Hotspring Works with Untold Studios on The Disney Christmas Campaign for the Second Year Running.
15.12.25For Disney’s 2025 Holiday spot, Hotspring reunited with Untold Studios, agency adam&eve DDB and production company Hungry Man on A Disney Holiday Short: Best Christmas Ever (2025). Directed by Taika Waititi and featuring the voice of John Goodman as Doodle, the short tells the story of a young girl whose unfinished drawing comes to life after Santa mistakes her doodle for a holiday wish. The film forms part of Disney’s global campaign Make Someone’s Holiday Magic, which celebrates the joy of giving and supports their Toys for Tots campaign.
The project builds on Hotspring’s earlier work with Untold Studios on The Boy and the Octopus (2024) which saw Hotspring complete 215 paint and roto tasks to support Untold Studios’ VFX pipeline. For Best Christmas Ever, Hotspring’s remote teams delivered clean plates, edge refinements and compositing elements that allowed for the seamless interaction between live-action and hand-drawn animation. The hybrid workflow, led by VFX Supervisor Christian Baker and CG Supervisor Hudson Martins, incorporated character design from Cyriel Verkuijlen and Therese Vildefall, with veteran Disney animator Eric Goldberg advising on animation style. Hotspring’s contribution ensured precision, efficiency and visual continuity across this complex multi-disciplinary production.
